How to Clean and Maintain Anti-Slip Stair Nosing for Optimal Safety

Implementing proper Anti Slip Stair Nosing is vital not only to minimize the risks but also to provide durability over the life of the product.

Regular Cleaning

Dry Dusting: Do it on a day-to-day basis by using a duster and a brush to sweep the stairs, thus removing dust from its surfaces as well as other related areas. This is done to avoid the formation of new micro- and macroscopic surfaces that would exist in the material due to its change in surface characteristics.

It is recommended to wash in water that is close to room temperature, and you can also use detergent when washing clothes. Wipe the area of stair nosing with a soft sponge and, of particular concern, check the areas around the stone to ensure that there isn’t any dirt or oils on the surface.

Rinse: Be careful when cleaning the areas around the nose because washing it could only be damp enough to give it a little bit of clean water and thus make it a little slippery.

Dry Thoroughly: Gently clean the nosing to avoid any potential leaks and use a microfiber cloth or a soft mop to ensure you dry all surfaces.

Inspect for Damage

One of the first steps is to inspect the nosing and look out for any signs of damage or wear of the material covering it, and also check the nozzles themselves for any signs of loosening or damage. Look out for:

Loose Screws or Adhesive Issues: Make sure to tighten the screws or reapply adhesive to ensure the nosing fits comfortably on the stairs.
